Chandler Hall, a non-profit, Quaker facility, and Kendal affiliate, provides high-quality care for older adults in Newtown, Bucks County and offers a wide spectrum of services for individuals at all stages of the aging process including Community Living, Personal Care, Residential Hospice, Home Hospice, Independent Living, Respite Care, and Skilled Nursing Care.
We are seeking to hire Full Time Meal Assistants to help us care for our amazing residents!
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high quality meals in nutrition, taste, temperature and presentation for meals for our residents and community of Chandler Hall and provide dining room service to our residents in an orderly, clean, efficient and respectful manner.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assures that quality nutritional services are consistently provided on a daily basis- meals are properly served according to protocols.
Has knowledge of therapeutic diets and how to properly serve them.
Ensures the proper handling / safety and storage procedures for food are followed.
Performs assigned tasks in accordance with policies and procedures or as instructed.
Greets & takes orders from residents; serves food; cleans & sanitizes dishes, glasses, silverware and equipment as needed. Re-sets tables, maintains inventory supply in dining rooms of tableware & linens.
Adheres to proper labeling, dating and storage of foods protocols. Maintains all appropriate documentation of temperature charts and similar records according to established protocols.
Adheres to daily cleaning assignments for kitchens and kitchen equipment. Provides utility management of trash and recyclables items.
Is crossed trained in working in ware washing, main kitchen positions, skilled position, Friends Nursing Home and Hicks Residence dining rooms.
Maintains proper personal appearance and hygiene. Adheres to attendance, break, dress code and smoking policies. Performs other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as maybe directed.
Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
