Accounts Payable Lead at II-VI Incorporated

Job Description:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Lead and Manage the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Accounts Payable team, including final approval of recurring and ad-hoc payment runs.
  • Responsible for the monthly close of the AP subledger and accurate recording of all payables transactions.
  • Approve new vendors and vendor data changes to ensure accurate vendor master data and prevent fraudulent payments.
  • Oversee the US instance of SAP Concur for the timely and accurate processing of Travel & Entertainment and Company Billed Statement Reports.
  • Work with the bank on integrations and implementations to increase the efficiency of the Corporate Accounts Payable team.
  • Work with the Corporate Treasurer to accurate reporting and robust cashflow.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the Accounts Payable processes and technologies.
  • Responsible for statutory reporting and forms such as 1099-MISC and escheatment of uncashed checks.
  • Develop and generate key metrics used to report the performance of the Accounts Payable process.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of Accounts Payable experience, including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • BS or equivalent degree preferred.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of the Procure-to-Pay lifecycle, preferrably with a multi-national manufacturer.
  • Experience with the payments processes and controls common to ERP software.
  • Experience with SAAS/Cloud software such as SAP Concur.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Card Programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong Excel skills including tables and lookups.

Working Conditions

  • Candidate is expected to work in an office environment.
  • Infrequent travel may be required during special projects.

Physical Requirements

  • Candidate must be able to work at a desk for an extended period of time.

They will have direct oversight of the payments team in Warrendale, PA and indirect oversight of the vouchering team in Ipoh, Malaysia. They are expected to work regularly with the managers of the Malaysian Accounts Payable team, as well as the Sr. Manager Global Shared Services to ensure an on-time and accurate payables process. The Accounts Payable Lead will act as the subject matter expert in Accounts Payable for various projects such as implementations and integrations, and work cross-functionally with related functions such as Global Procurement and IT when needed.
