Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Clinical Supervisor assists clinical staff providing services in outpatient programs by providing orientation, oversight, supervision, training, and support. You will maintain standards of professional counseling practice in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for directing care of patients, facilitating workflows, and serves as a resource for staff and for providing team leadership. The Clinical Supervisor reports to the Clinic Manager.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 


  • Provides supervision of clinical staff and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF standards, and clinic and corporate policies and procedures

  • Ensure staff meet productivity and are in compliance with documentation requirements

  • Coordinate with Clinicians, Case Managers, and Program Assistants regarding client needs and requests

  • Staff client needs with staff and manager as needed

  • Provide orientation to new clinical employees

  • Review group progress notes, monthly reports, client assessments and intake paperwork, and treatment plan development

  • Review staff's time sheets, mileage logs, and expense reports

  • Coordinate with outpatient clinical management team to ensure all outpatient groups, screenings, and education classes are covered

  • Review employee Incident Reports and discuss concerns with staff as needed

  • Coordinate with Clinical Manager to review candidate applications, and conduct interviews for open clinical positions

  • Monitors counselor’s compliance with productivity requirements and develops improvement plan when requirements are not met

  • Ensures quality patient care, conducts treatment plan reviews and client service surveys on a regular basis

  • Performs chart audits and communicates results of audits to staff

  • Assess levels of care for patients; conducts treatment plan review as required

  • Participate in reviews ensuring adherence to policy, best practices, and regulatory requirements

  • Assists with the recruitment, hiring and training of qualified clinical staff

  • May also be involved in crisis intervention and work as a liaison within community

  • Ensures ethical and professional conduct by clinical staff

  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

 


  • Minimum of Master’s Degree, in Psychology, Counseling, Education, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or Human Services field, required

  • Associate Level Licensed required; Independent Level Licensed, preferred - LPC highly preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing substance abuse counseling; experience conducting group counseling highly preferred

  • Experience and skills in staff supervision, training, and managerial principles and practices, preferred

  • Must have sufficient knowledge of the substance abusing population, treatment planning and the field of human social services to work towards the rehabilitation of the client

  • Proficient in DSM 5

  • Maintain an awareness of substance abuse symptoms, signs, and best practice

  • Must be credentialed as BHP within 90 days of

  • Ability to develop routine reports and

  • Must have exceptional skills in communication (written and verbal) and able to execute conflict

  • Must be culturally sensitive and trauma
    Experience working with families of diverse socio-economic
    Knowledge of Windows environment and/or Electronic Health Records

  • Must have current TB test or be willing to take one within 90 days of

  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) trained or the ability to be trained within 90 days of hire

  • Must have or able to obtain valid Fingerprint Clearance

  • Must maintain current CPR/1st Aid

  • The ability to use a phone, computer, printer, and copier is

  • Frequent use of Microsoft office products, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and

  • The ability to use the internet and various web browser software is

Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description

 


  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office

  • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer

  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or

  • Some lifting may be

  • Frequent and prolonged typing and frequent and prolonged operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones required.

  • Requires occasional use of fax machines, telephones, copiers, and other office

  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50
