Job Description:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the entire maintenance team and managing all building and equipment maintenance programs including preventive maintenance as well as installing, inspecting, diagnosing. Additionally, the Maintenance Manager will ensure all equipment and buildings are in top operating condition so that the plant is operating in the most efficient and effective manner. Our Maintenance Manager Will:



  • Schedule, supervise and perform maintenance activities on building, grounds and all equipment as needed, including preventive maintenance as well as diagnosing and repairing equipment. This includes structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, PLC, fabrication, and HVAC.

  • Maintain spare parts inventory and organize storage area. Coordinate ordering of all equipment parts and supplies as needed.

  • Develop work order program to determine priority of maintenance workflow. Schedule and assign projects to maintenance mechanics or outside contractors as appropriate. Be present (on site) any time contractors are in the facility doing non-emergency work to ensure they properly sign in, have proper PPE and supervise any Hot Work/PRCS permits required.

  • Follow up to ensure projects are successfully completed.

  • Develop, implement and monitor accurate Preventive Maintenance Program throughout the plant.

  • Meet with the Plant Manager on a weekly basis and provide a status update on projects, continuous improvement initiatives, department budget, downtime, safety, and overall department performance.

  • Managing maintenance expenses (in real time) to eliminate budget overruns.  Report expense to the Plant Manager weekly.

  • Communicate the weekly staffing/coverage schedule with the Plant Manager and peers, including established coverage plans during your absence.

  • Coordinate with other functional areas to identify and solve problems, improving plant productivity.

  • Implement safety and regulatory programs to assure long term safe operation of the facility. Work with company leaders to address any questions, concerns, or issues to resolve immediately.

  • Recruit, direct, coach, and lead all maintenance personnel constantly raising the standard of performance. Establish education and development programs for employees including SOP’s, safety, and job expectations.

  • Create team-based environment through regular employee meetings encouraging open communication and seeking input regarding operations, safety and quality issues.

  • Ensure compliance with all company, state and federal safety and regulatory policies and practices.

  • Take personal responsibility to engage in plant and food safety practices to prevent hazards that cause foodborne illness or injury and provide a clean, safe work environment and quality products with applicable regulatory laws and SQF code.

  • Qualified and trained individual will provide as a back-up in the event of an absence of another employee.

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Effectively document all process parameters and bring any deviations, including food safety problems, to supervisor’s attention.

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines.

  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as needed.

 


Position Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 5-10 years previous industrial maintenance management experience preferably in food grade manufacturing operation.

  • 5+ years of previous supervisory experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Strong knowledge of computer software applications.

  • Be on call for issues that arise outside of normal working hours.

  • A team player who wants to contribute to a thriving culture.
