Responsible for the extraction of foreign material and other quality defects from finished product.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                        

• Manually remove specified kernels and foreign material from moving belts (conveyor) to meet customer specifications


• Engages in Friday plant sanitation activities and as needed throughout normal operations; expected to become proficient to where the incumbent is performing sanitation duties without operator oversight


• Document all foreign material findings


• Sweep RTE line area, keep free from debris or spillage


• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS                                                                     

Minimum level of education required 

• High School Diploma or GED           

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience

•  6 months of general labor experience

Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g., Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)

• Incumbent must have good dexterity and visual ability to detect and manually extract foreign material from product on an electronically paced conveyor line.


• Basic math and communication skills


• Incumbents must be able to communicate quality issues to management and QA personnel


• Duties consist of repetitive task and must follow trained policies and procedures


• Must understand Blue Diamond HACCP process, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices


• Overtime as necessary is a requirement to the performance of this position


• Incumbents must be able to work in noisy environment, around equipment, in the exposure to elements and in dust or heights


• Must be able to work any shift

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job . While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk or hear. The incumbent will frequently be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involved sitting, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to work in a plant environment being exposed to dust, high noise levels, extreme temperature and humidity fluctuations, and wet operating work conditions.  Typical conditions may include prolonged sitting, standing and walking.  Must be able to work all shifts. Must be able to work any shift based on operational needs. Weekend work not uncommon.
