Job Description:

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Business Manager, is responsible for safe, effective and quality patient and family centered care in the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic.
This is a temporary per diem position.
Responsibilities
Quality
1 Adheres to Infection Prevention standards, consistent in hand hygiene practice before and after each patient interaction. Adheres to infection prevention precautions and use of PPE. Holds team members to IP and hand hygiene standards and room/patient IP precaution measures to prevent infection or the spread of infection.
2 Participates in quality review, performance improvement, survey readiness and patient satisfaction initiatives within the vaccine clinic. Participates in vaccine data collection and analysis including vaccine audits and state and federal reporting mandates.
Professionalism
1 Adheres to the standards of profession as outlined by the American Nurses Association
2 Continues professional growth by maintaining education hours for license renewals and participating in hospital committees, clinical council, and professional organizations. Maintains certification: BLS.
Nursing Clinical Competency
1 Performs COVID-19 vaccine administration safely and appropriately in accordance with standing vaccine protocols and standing medical orders; enters orders, assess patient's condition, administers vaccines, monitors post-vaccination period for adverse reactions.
2 Provided education regarding vaccine options and schedules patients for vaccinations.
3 Proficient with electronic documentation, maintains accurate vaccine schedules, documentation, reports and records.
4 Consistently utilizes clear, concise, professional communication in all interactions (SBAR). This includes in person, telephone and computer interactions with patients.
5 Recognizes and performs nursing interventions in cases of urgent or emergent situations such as, adverse vaccine response, allergic reaction or anaphylaxis.
6 Demonstrates safe, competent use of patient care equipment, beds, stretchers, safety devices, oxygen therapy and emergency equipment.
Patient Advocacy
1 Utilizes appropriate resources for non-English speaking patients, healthcare illiterate patients, hearing and sight impaired patients and caregivers.
2 Provides clear communication of vaccine education and plan of care at a level the patient, family, and caregiver can comprehend.
3 Takes proactive steps to recognize and report suspected abuse/neglect, including, child abuse, elder abuse, sexual abuse, and spousal abuse.
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred
Experience: Two years of acute care or ambulatory clinic nursing with vaccine experience preferred. Proficient with electronic medical records, computer literate.
Licenses: BLS Certification - Current New Hampshire RN licensure
