Section 1: Position Summary

The Brand Manager is accountable for leading strategy development and implementation associated with articulating, sustaining, and growing our most important asset -- the Ascensus brand. The incumbent will provide enterprise leadership focused on building brand visibility, enhancing aided and unaided brand awareness, and promoting the attributes and promises behind the brand with clients, associates, and the general public. She or he will lead management of its appropriate use, regular measurement of brand awareness and reputation quality, and seek high-impact opportunities to enhance its visibility in paid, owned, and earned media. The Brand Manager will partner with other members of the Brand & Communications team in the engagement of leaders and associates to empower the whole of Ascensus as confident and capable brand ambassadors.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead efforts to position and build the Ascensus brand for continued growth by developing and leading implementation of a comprehensive brand strategy utilizing paid, owned and earned opportunities.

  • Develop and implement a thought leadership and content marketing strategy that elevates the brand, drives consideration, and helps grow the business.

  • Manage a center-of-excellence that utilizes best-in-class agencies and partners to drive LOB and Brand objectives, including:

    • Public Relations

    • Social Media

    • Sponsorships & Partnerships

    • Event Strategy

    • SEO Strategy



  • Lead efforts to identify innovative and unique opportunities and venues to feature Ascensus and promote the promise and power behind our brand.

  • Protect, secure, and properly oversee the brand and its use with audiences.

  • Serve as brand spokesperson as appropriate and promote the brand strategy within and outside of the Brand & Communications team to promote consistent articulation of the brand narrative, brand attributes, and the brand promise.

  • Ensure that our I-Client service philosophy and our core values of People Matter, Quality First and Integrity Always are readily visible on a day-to-day basis and support our culture.

Supervision

  • While the Brand Manager has no direct report supervisory responsibilities, she or he will be accountable for effective and efficient use and management of external resources, including agencies, vendors, publications, and properties.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements


  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, brand management, corporate/digital communications, public relations, and/or marketing communications is required.

  • A track record of success managing marketing activities, brand promotion and measurement, digital content development, and/or marketing communications/PR initiatives is desired.

  • The Brand Manager will have high confidence in her or his writing ability, bring an effective presence as a presenter and counsel, and readily demonstrate her or his ability to think and lead strategically.

  • The successful candidate will bring strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as experience leveraging and collaborating with digital media outlets and sponsors.

  • A strong bias towards progressing the brand and growing its impact is a must.
