Section 1: Position Summary
Assist in the actuarial valuation, administration and compliance of Defined Benefit and Cash Balance plans. Train in all facets of pension administration including distribution calculations, government forms, plan termination filings, compliance testing, AFTAPs, Annual Funding Notice, assist credentialed actuary in preparation of all client deliverables.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Initial 6 to 12 months:
Learn pension law and its applicability to the services FuturePlan provides
Learn administration system(s) and enter plan information in them
Prepare plan information in designated formats
Learn government 5500 filing procedures
Read and develop a working knowledge of pension plan documents
After 12 Months:
Prepare participant benefit calculations for review by enrolled actuary
Complete funding valuations for enrolled actuary to review and certify
Assist in testing combined plans for compliance and regulations
Prepare Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation premium filings for review and certification by enrolled actuary
Learn IRS and PBGC Plan Termination procedures
Set up proposals and do preliminary run for review by enrolled actuary
Read and become familiar with regulations under ERISA law through self-study and company-sponsored training sessions.
Keep files organized and up-to-date
Update Workflow timely
Provide back up to other teams as necessary
Assist with other tasks and special projects as assigned
Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
0 - 5 years of industry experience
Bachelor's degree in math or math related field
Demonstrated analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical ideas
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office
Detail-oriented
Self-starter who will take responsibility for completing tasks in a timely fashion
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks
