Scene Shop Supervisor, Part-Time

Westminster College of the Arts (WCA) of Rider University (Lawrenceville, NJ) invites applications for a Supervisor of the Theatre Scene Shop. Reporting to the Theatre & Dance Department Chairperson and working in collaboration with the Technical Director of Theaters, under minimal supervision, this position provides supervision of students in the shop, training for students working onstage, and general construction of scenic designs. This is a part-time, non-bargaining position that works from September 1 through May 15.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of carpentry, safety, and supervisory experience appropriate to this position. Success in the position will require the ability to work under minimal guidance, to understand the academic environment, and to comply with health and safety regulations and policies. Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience· Theatrical and finish carpentry· Rigging· Basic Scenic Painting· Minor electrical knowledge relevant to theatrical work

· Bachelors degree in Theatre or equivalent professional experience· Experience supervising students
