The C.I. Lead is an individual that is data-driven, but with a thorough understanding of employee engagement and able to communicate at all levels.
They will assist in leading all Lean Manufacturing initiatives in Operations including areas such OEE metrics, Kaizen & Kata events and project management/implementation of solutions.
Collaborates with external or internal resources to achieve desired solution(s).
Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials by restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
Lead teams to develop, implement and sustain improvements in processes and outcome metrics.
Ensure CI project goals are met and sustained through the development of effective control plans.
Ensure Continuous Improvement processes and procedures are followed and adhered through auditing and process confirmation practices.
Lead C.I. initiatives in areas of 5S, Waste Reduction, Value-Stream Mapping, etc.
Implement analytical & logical approaches using C.I. Tools to determine root cause of mechanical or processing problems or challenges (i.e. 5 Why’s, Fishbone, A4, 8D)

Background Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but will consider an Associate’s Degree with Continuous Improvement manufacturing background
3 - 5+ years in a manufacturing environment implementing Continuous Improvement
Continuous Improvement – Lean or Six Sigma experience desirable. Yellow Belt preference
Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or other form of Continuous Improvement methodology preferred
Process Improvement - Proven application of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 6 sigma methodologies. Strong understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement concepts, principles, and practices required. (i.e. 5S, Gemba, Kaizen, Kata, Value-Stream Mapping, process-flows). Familiarity with TPS (Toyota Production Systems) is desirable, and Yellow Belt Training is a huge plus.
An understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Lean Culture is highly desirable.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Expertly adept to Microsoft Excel. Understanding of the use of control charts, mini-tab, data-gathering, Pareto’s are vital to the job position.
Must have excellent planning, negotiation and strong organizational skills and the ability to independently and be accountable to timelines and set goals.
Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Must be able to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information to other employees.
Receives input and coordination of information from various parties, and prepares and presents such information for management review.
