Job Summary:

The Logistics Analyst II – International is responsible for analyzing transportation and distribution methods to develop and utilize the most advantageous and efficient means of transporting products to meet delivery schedules and deadlines for international and domestic customers.  Provides internal customers and outside vendors with timely responses and direction on problem resolutions.

Essential Functions:


  • Interface and interact with international and domestic customers to facilitate and plan shipping.

  • Prepare export documentation such as export declaration of dock orders, commercial invoices, Free Trade Agreement certificates, Ocean Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, packing lists, letters of credit, etc.

  • Develop lowest possible truck, rail, ocean, and air freight rates.

  • Ensure proper dock delivery orders are used by customer’s forwarder and provided to trucking companies, L.B. Foster yard, and/or outside vendors.

  • Ensure customs brokers receive the proper documentation to deliver material to/from different countries.

  • Keep customers informed of order status, shipment details, and vessel departures and arrivals.

  • Coordinate pick-up and delivery of LTL outbound shipments from vendors, outside storage and LB Foster locations.

  • Provide input to accounting for billing of certain direct shipments, outside storage shipments and import direct shipments.

  • Coordinate receipt and distribution of imported rail and maintain international shipment file.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education & License Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or related field preferred.

  • 2-4 years’ experience in transportation or logistics required.

  • 3+ years of international logistics experience required. 

Skills & Abilities:


  • Experience with SAP is preferred.

  • Must be fluent in Spanish; both oral and written.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and with ERP Systems.

  • Ability to prioritize and use time efficiently.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand trade compliance and governance process.

  • Demonstrated experience in preparing export documentation.
