Job Summary

As part of II-VI Employee Connect HRIS Team , this position exists to Lead II-VI's analytics encompassing HRIS data throughout the global II-VI organization as well as all connected systems and data bases ensuring "Common, Simple and Global" solutions operate in support of a dynamic and ever-changing employee population and world-class HR, Payroll and Time & Attendance solutions.

This position will provide strategic support to the Human Resource function in the areas of people metrics, reporting, and advanced predictive analytic capabilities. It will serve as the domain expert for human resources data and analytics and will lead all technical analytics. It will assist the Global HRIS team in ensuring data integrity and on-going HRIS analytics. It is expected to explore & configure analytical tools which will supply the business with robust data to base business decisions. This role also ensures a path to rich data audits and reports to pro-actively mitigate or eliminate risks and issues ensuring an accurate global database of record .

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


  • Monitor and assess results for compliance to requirements, applicable standards and accepted II-VI and regional practices.
  • Leads and track risks and decisions to ensure awareness of details to recognize when problems are developing and escalate to team leads through regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Designs and implements self-service reporting tools and data management that reflects the complexity of our business.
  • Designs and implements dashboards and headcount reporting for HR and Managers that present data in a meaningful and actionable framework for leadership.
  • Offer actionable analysis and reporting to HRBP's, managers and executives, business functions globally to enable them to meet their business objectives through data and analytics.
  • Lead integration and data transfers between the HRIS, global payroll, time and attendance systems, external vendors and other related systems.
  • Lead data analytic configurations and enhancements.
  • Lead regular OAC and OTBI system maintenance checks .
  • Owns data strategy and requirements for all HRIS modules
  • Document and maintain data standards, partnering with functional and business data owners to map existing HR data structures, usage, and common definitions.
  • Collaborate with HRIS Team to design, build, and execute efficient and accurate control structures to assess data quality in order to be compliant with II-VI and regional practices.
  • Provide consultative support for HR clients, advising on policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper system configuration, training, documentation of reports use, HRIS audit creation and global reports portfolio is appropriate
  • Ensure reporting procedures meet internal and government reporting requirements (DCAA, regional labor laws, etc.)
  • Support ADP, Kronos, Solium, Concur and other integration design, system configuration and on-going support
  • Collaborates & ensures data quality with Finance, Internal Audit and other teams to ensure that all documentation promotes data quality and is consistent, stable and accurately clears all internal and external SOX audits.
  • Comply with defined Information Technology controls, security policies and standards.
  • Responsible to create/update system documentation and process flows, user procedures and upkeep standard operating procedures for global HRIS team.
  • Collaborate with Knowledge Management Lead, HRIS and regional HR and key users to advance system use through identifying unused fields and/or functionality and upkeep HR Process documentation.
  • Work with vendors to ensure changes, upgrades and enhancements are properly rolled out.
  • Mentor and proactively coach the global team to develop expertise and drive process and configuration excellence.
  • Regularly work with US, Asia & Europe HR teams to build effective relationships with internal business partners.
  • Collaborate with HRIS Team in responding to service desk tickets & Global HRIS emails as neede d.

Education & Experience

  • Preferred BS in information technology and analytics practice required
  • Ten (10) years of experience with a global HRIS environment or applicable
  • Have experience with various source systems and their resultant data (Oracle databases, Fusion, SAP, ADP, etc.)
  • Familiar with ETL processing and how to work both independently and with technology to formalize processes for recurring data needs.
  • Experienced with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Oracle Analytics Cloud.
  • Have advanced skills with at least one data manipulation language like SQL. Knowledge of how to harmonize large, disparate data sets and within the confines of the technology allotted.
  • Deep understanding of relational data and how to incorporate unstructured data into analytics.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel and Excel's Macro capabilities, inclusive of array formulae and VBA for process automation .
