Your day to day

Job Summary –

Hands-on role with responsibility for delivering revenue through IHG’s web channel through product and content optimizations that enhance IHG web sites and locations organic search traffic. The SEO Specialist will work with keyword and search intent research to identify optimization opportunities as well as new product needs. The SEO Specialist will develop and deploy web enhancements for both brand specific and multi-brand audiences across web channels, ensuring a seamless experience for guests. Ensure that the power of IHG’s system is reflected in all brands messaging where appropriate. Work with partners on marketing and commercial teams to support regional strategies to ensure alignment and full leverage on the power of IHG distribution channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities –


  • Conduct keyword research and reporting to identify opportunities for optimization as well as measurement of optimization efforts.

  • Act as product expert to identify technical opportunities by developing and implementing user stories related to SEO defects as well as new product features or enhancements.

  • Provide recommendations and consult on both technical and content elements which impact SEO.

  • Act as liaison between hotel partners and local support teams to monitor and improve Local SEO performance, including recommendations for GMB management.

  • Analyze and interpret campaign results, and process efficiencies; adopt the results and finding to optimize campaigns.

What we need from you

Education -


  • Degree level in Marketing, Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and work

    related experience.

Experience –


  • At least 3 years practical experience in search engine optimization or digital marketing.

  • Demonstrated experience driving results through delivery on SEO recommendations.

  • Experience working to deploy technical enhancements through agile development teams is a plus.

Required Skills –


  • Proficiency in using SEO research platforms, web crawling tools, and analytics tools. Examples include SEMRush, ahrefs, Conductor, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, or similar tools.

  • Experience with Local SEO tools including GoogleMyBusiness and local management platforms.

  • Proficiency in CMS platforms (e.g. AEM, Wordpress)

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to internal partners, vendors, senior management and staff. Must be able to prepare and deliver presentations to small groups.

  • Have working knowledge in HTML, Javascript, and other programming languages as they relate to SEO.

  • Must possess superior problem-solving skills combined with team facilitation skill and demonstrated experience in leading and developing people.

Decision making responsibilities (Key Relationships) -  


  • Provides fundamental input for new Channel Products and co-designs end result with Product management.

  • Co-developing regional and country-specific revenue targets.

  • Provides input into the selection of specific pre-approved agency for outsourced work (Regional and Global pre-approved Agencies will be selected by a combined group of Regional and Global e-Commerce Directors or their designees).
