GPS Manufacturer/Distributor

As a Developer with an uncanny ability to think critically and who is intellectually scrappy, you’ll be given ample opportunity to design, build and iteratively improve a variety of web applications—all with the aim of helping to eliminate customer disruptions and provide superior customer support. You’ll regularly collaborate with our leadership about how your applications can be more helpful to their teams, design a technical solution that meets the need, as well as build and deliver it to the business.  Additionally, you’ll have lots of freedom in how a solution is implemented. Technical Expertise


  • Designs, enhances and develops single and multi-system applications written in SQL, PHP, Javascript, Node.js, Python or other selected languages

  • Provide all levels of support to team-created applications

  • Determine root cause of reported issues and develop data, application and/or process improvements to address them

  • Develop application patches, bug fixes, and enhancements to resolve business issues

  • Design and develop web-enabled client-side and server-side applications as part of a structured Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process

  • Responsible for planning small or medium sized projects

  • Continually improve team requirements gathering, development, documentation and testing processes

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field with a 3.0 or higher GPA, plus 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in meaningfully contributing to the success of developing technical solutions

  • Demonstrated proficiency writing software in developmental languages (SQL, PHP,Javascript, Node.js, Python)

  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a large team or departmental setting

  • Previous experience working in a team environment

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Superior academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 as a general rule)

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, identify root causes and resolve them

  • Ability to properly prioritize and manage multiple projects and support tasks at the same time
