City Experiences is seeking an Account Manager for our Sales operation in Chicago.

About the Opportunity:

The successful Account Manager will successfully execute the sales plan for their assigned market segment and sub-segments, maximizing revenue generation from that territory.

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Sales:

    • Develop comprehensive knowledge of guest and market needs

    • Execute the sales plan using effective sales techniques

    • Lead Generation- Network through current guests, telemarketing, attending trade shows and industry events, requesting referrals

    • Sales Conversion- Successfully convert prospects to clients by conducting telephone sales calls to both new and existing guests, and using effective closing techniques

    • Identifies guest needs and utilize in-depth product knowledge to prepare winning proposals

    • Balances Company and guest needs to create win/win situations

    • Convincingly presents proposals over the phone and in person during site inspections and appointments

    • Successfully upsells existing clients to higher value items

    • Handle objections and resolve guest problems

    • Establish relationship with associations/business organizations (e.g. Chamber of Commerce, Convention & Visitors Bureau)




  • Guest Service:

    • Ensure prompt responses to guest inquiries

    • Ensure complete and accurate product details are communicated to the Food & Beverage (F&B) and Operations team to ensure proper product execution

    • Follow up with guest within 24 hours after the cruise to further develop the account and to:

      • Thank guest

      • Discuss other events

      • Obtain cruise feedback

      • Set up next meeting

      • Rebook for next year

      • Get referrals



    • Work with Director of Sales to resolve all guest issues




  • Administrative:

    • Use Salesforce CRM system to effectively plan and manage the activities in the assigned markets and to track productivity of these sales activities

    • Use Salesforce CRM & Reservation systems to accurately book and manage reservations and cruise details

    • Maintain organization through time management, setting priorities, and accurate paperwork

    • Work with Sales Associate to collect payments and keeps accounts receivables up to date




  • Other:

    • Attend applicable meetings as designated or necessary




  • Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a discipline related to the work of the position preferred OR Associates Degree with 1-2 years additional sales experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ total sales experience consisting of at least one (1) year outbound telephone sales experience

  • Hospitality experience preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical skills required in order to identify and exploit selling opportunities

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, CRM and reservation software
