Senior Network Engineer

Position Overview:

As an experienced Network Engineer professional on Johnsonville's IT Team you will have an opportunity to support the Cloud and Infrastructure Operations Team in the functional areas of Wireless, Security, Switch/Route, and Unified Communications using state of the art software defined technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Network Operations Center team by deploying, maintaining, and performing break/fix for the Johnsonville enterprise network
• Translate complex engineering requirements for production facilities worldwide into network blueprints and execution plans, for both enterprise and manufacturing networks
• Lead complex projects involving leading edge Unified Communications, Network, Wireless, and Security Infrastructure
• Bridge the gap between technical subject matter experts and senior level management for planning and strategy
• Interpret industry provided "validated designs" into real world implementation plans targeting highest achievable ROI
• Refine MIS Network Team processes focusing on assured compliance, lifecycle management, and consistent delivery of services
• Travel and support remote facilities including domestic and international production, sales, and enterprise office environments
• Support the 24/7/365 network operations driven business continuity plan as part of the Tier 3 escalation team

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science preferred

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years industrial switching and wireless experience in a manufacturing environment with design methodology to accommodate 24/7/365 production schedules required
• Project Management experience utilizing complex collaborative tools and resource planning systems preferred

Skills and Competencies:

• Extensive problem-solving skills
• Consistent attention to detail
• Thorough understanding of production level business automation and controls as it ties into enterprise networks
• Demonstrated familiarity of complex design methodologies in solving modern computing problems with emphasis on security, delivery of collaborative business services including voice and video to the teleworker, and data center networking for ERP systems from premise to multi-cloud environments
• Budget conscientious, effective project management skills, and the ability to be forward thinking while still managing day to day operations alongside principle engineers
• Critical attention to operation, maintenance, and project execution for modular, scalable, and cost-efficient enterprise networks
• Strong working knowledge of:

  • Cisco Security Technologies such as Firepower Threat Defense and/or Identity Services Engine

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally
