Summary

Title: Prac/Program Mgr II

Cook Children's Physician Network

The network includes primary care physicians and/or pediatric specialists with offices in Tarrant, Denton, Parker, Johnson and Hood counties. Through the network, Cook Children's has established physician offices in several medically underserved, predominately low-income neighborhoods. The network also has increased access to pediatric specialty care through outreach clinics in many communities in North and West Texas.

Summary:

The Practice Manager II facilitates teamwork and department pride by advocating for an environment that promotes high patient care standards and implements processes to ensure customer satisfaction. The Practice Manager II has the authority, accountability, and responsibility for the management of clerical and clinical staff. Areas of responsibility will include personnel management, staff development and positive customer relations. Demonstrates sound judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities. Thoroughly understands and monitors financial performance of the unit/department.

Education and Experience:


  • Five years experience as a medical office manager in a multi-provider office

  • Two years of college or equivalent experience

  • Must possess a basic understanding of general accounting principles

  • A solid understanding of coding and third party requirements is required

  • Maturity to withstand pressure that may arise in relation to the public, physician or administration

  • Among the items to consider for differentiation of Practice Manager I and Practice Manager II: Multi-provider. Multiple practice locations

  • High office visit volume (generally greater than 3000 office visits per quarter)

  • Direct supervision of many staff (generally more than 6 full time employees)
