The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health invites applications to fill a Faculty Associate Research Specialist position in the Center for Health Care Data (CHCD). This Center is the largest research accessible, healthcare data repository in Texas. As part of the CHCD team, the Faculty Associate Research Specialist will work with researchers, programmers, biostatisticians and analysts to support targeted research to answer clinical and policy related questions that seek to improve population health.
Position Key Accountabilities:
The primary job responsibilities will be:
1) Providing statistical expertise on clinical research and population health studies;
2) Overseeing data management and data analysis on multiple studies;
3) Co-authoring publications; and
4) Providing statistical analysis and support for new grant applications.
In addition, Faculty Associate Research Specialist may serve as a guest lecturer in UTSPH classes, and provide consultation to MPH and doctoral students using health data for thesis or dissertation studies.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have outstanding oral and written communication skills, along with quantitative research skills. Qualitative research experience is also valued. A doctoral degree in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or another relevant discipline is required.
