The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for providing customer-focused support to management while maintaining operations, developing growth strategies, problem-solving and promoting new business opportunities through research and analysis.

*This position is assigned to the Data Management department.  Therefore, the ideal candidate would have experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or in Data Management.  This experience would include process modeling, data warehouse standards and methodologies, or self-service reporting utilizing PowerBI, Wherescape or Pentaho, and Master Data Management.

In this role, you will:


  • Be accountable for the identifying and determining business requirements and translating into functional specifications to determine and implement solutions.

  • Define systems scope, objectives and functionality based on user input and understanding of business processes by defining appropriate use case, data collection and management. 

  • Develop user stories with acceptance criteria. 

  • Typically, is assigned work of moderate complexity and/or, moderate and impact/risk projects/systems.

  • Typically assigned business analysis that is at the product level.

  • Provide the basis for the design or modification of information systems through business analysis.

  • Identify key performance indicators use by business stakeholders.

Education & Experience

Required


  • 4-7 years of professional level experience in financial administration, business analysis, data analysis, business intelligence analysis, auditing or accounting.

  • 1 year of experience working on technology and application development projects including developing technical requirements.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Preferred


  • Experience in the insurance industry.

  • Experience in assigned business unit.

  • Experience using JIRA (Agile, Confluence), Selenium, Gliffy.

  • Experience in SAFe Agile Methodologies.

  • Industry specific certifications.

  • Agile Certifications such as CSD, CSM, or CPO.

  • Other appropriate certifications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or closely related field preferred. No degree would require an additional 4 years of experience.

  • Experience with projects using Java, .NET, Oracle, or the creation of a data warehouse

Other Requirements

This position requires the physical ability to perform extensive repetitive motions in using a computer and the routine use of other office equipment. Work is typically performed while sitting and does not require heavy lifting.  Must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel.
