The Vice President, Global Vendor Management will drive supplier consolidation and cost savings throughout the company. He or she is responsible for establishing strategic sourcing strategy for various functional areas and categories, i.e., identify and screen suppliers, negotiate terms and conditions favorable to the firm, drive improved supplier service levels, and minimize risk while improving the firm's business results and supporting key stakeholders. The candidate must effectively maintain relationships at all levels and will interface daily with diverse functional areas, including but not limited to, legal, compliance, risk, and security. In collaboration with key stakeholders, he or she will have ownership of the entire sourcing life-cycle process, including developing sourcing strategies for specific commodities or categories, providing vendor and market analysis expertise, developing financial analysis with support from Finance and/or Business/Category Managers, identifying sourcing alternatives, developing savings methodologies and stakeholder engagement, and assisting with implementation topics. This role will also be responsible for overseeing and driving the success of various global projects in support of the organization's goals and objectives. The role will support procurement operations and initiatives to simplify, standardize and automate our procurement processes. The role must also successfully align all strategies with the applicable business requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Be able to gather and understand all business drivers and requirements. Identify relevant infrastructure to meet those drivers and business goals
  • Establish and develop policies and procedures including SOPs and workflows. Provide guidelines, implement and enforce any new procedures as needed
  • Enforce compliance to procurement policies and work to increase adoption
  • Manage supply categories including general office and breakroom supplies, small parcel, stationery, etc.
  • Responsible for development of strategic sourcing strategies for specific categories being purchased using focused industry analysis, criticality analysis, business knowledge, competitive analysis, and sourcing expertise.
  • Coordinate external research and provide assessment of category supply market conditions.
  • Produce and deliver content-rich category plans (incl. market analysis/external competitor analysis).
  • Identify, research, and prioritize possible sourcing opportunities through internal spend analysis, knowledge of the Business groups, potential savings, and/or urgency of business need.
  • Identify new purchasing opportunities and savings strategies through spend concentration analysis, and then ensure Sourcing meets its committed savings objectives with support from each Business groups.
  • Effectively integrate with functional area groups and develop good relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Develop, manage and lead all solicitations (RFPs, informal proposals) through the documented sourcing/procurement process. Effectively, analyze and be lead for cross-functional evaluation team.
  • Effectively prepare, coordinate and conduct all supplier negotiations.
  • Memorialize results of negotiations through development and review of contractual language.
  • Develop methodologies to capture savings as well as manage value driven negotiations.
  • Deliver on cost reduction commitments through the identification, development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Manage supplier risk for business-critical managed programs.
  • Assist with, analysis, reports including feasibility, ROI, procurement reports, etc.
  • Assisting Legal with reviewing of statements of work, contracts, agreements, etc.
  • Role may also work with Legal to develop and use firm approved, template agreements as necessary

Risk & Controls

  • Lead development and execution of a performance driven supplier governance and management process resulting in structured feedback, joint problem solving, simplification, reduced variation and overall quality improvements.
  • Support development and adherence to financial, fraud-prevention, and risk management controls throughout Procurement processes.
  • Provide thought leadership, development, and guidance on the firm's existing procurement policies and practices.

Effective Leadership

  • A strategic thinker who will be expected to demonstrate a willingness to lead on Enterprise and Business group' Procurement initiatives, and go above and beyond to drive savings but be an ambassador for Finance & the Sourcing and Strategy team
  • Ability to develop the skills and abilities of all team members, with the result that they perform to at their highest potential and optimize their current and future job performance.
  • Focus on developing and maintaining deep expertise in all critical industry areas, team functional areas, and specific vendor relationships.
  • Superior communication skills and ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
  • Role will interface globally with employees at all levels, in all firm departments including members of the Executive Leadership Team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven ability to move fluidly between strategic initiatives and topics, and be a hands-on leader when necessary.
  • Analytically minded, able to visualize, conceptualize and solve problems, using data-driven analysis for the purpose of drawing conclusions to enable better decisions, promote process standardization, and improved usage of tools and best practices.
  • Work with local market colleagues, have or gain solid understanding of international procurement law with correlating ability to author/negotiate: master supply agreements, professional services agreements, statements of work, change requests, amendments and so forth.
  • Excellent skills in internal and external relationship management: supplier management skills including ability to develop and manage business driven supplier executive relationships; and, ability to develop relationships with senior leaders and influence business stakeholders to adopt improved sourcing methods and process compliance.
  • Self-starter with willingness to go above and beyond requirements, proficient in leading and setting direction for cross-functional teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and drive change across all levels of the organization and geographical boundaries.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience, including leadership within vendor management, setting strategies, driving cost savings, consolidating suppliers.
  • BA/BS in, business management, finance, accounting or equivalent business experience
  • Driven and pro-active with little need for supervision
  • Operate effectively with flexibility in a hands-on, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment.
  • Negotiate and network with a wide variety of external and internal customers.
  • Experience extracting insights from data and presenting it to executive audiences.
  • Must have attention to detail along with an understanding of the quality/compliance environment.
  • Exceptional leadership, excellent business/financial acumen and project management skills to lead global teams and to ensure on time execution of projects, especially sourcing projects, process improvement initiatives, and accounts payable/procurement automation projects.
  • Analytically minded, able to visualize, conceptualize and solve problems, using data-driven analysis for the purpose of drawing conclusions to enable better decisions, promote process standardization, and improved usage of tools and best practices.
  • Solid analytical and computer skills (proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
  • Experience with Lawson and/or Infor is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that help represent diverse communities
  • Experience working with diverse teams
