The Office of Information Services (OIS) works to support the business functions and the delivery of health, human, and employment services through the application of information technology. OIS supports the delivery of programs to millions of recipients through the development and round-the-clock operation of automated information systems. Due to the number of end-users and technologies supported, OIS is one of the largest and most complex IT organizations within Ohio state government.
ODJFS is seeking a qualified individual with knowledge and experience in business process analysis methods and techniques to work with business users and technical staff to develop strategies for modification and/or creation of new information technology solutions. 
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:



  • This position is temporary, unclassified, and is not eligible for benefits.



  • Although categorized as 'part-time', the hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch (40-hours per week). At this time, the schedule is not negotiable.



  • At this time, this position is working from home although you will initially have to come to an ODJFS facility in Columbus Ohio to pick up equipment and receive initial instructions. In the future, you may be assigned to work in an ODJFS facility rather than work from home.



  • In order to do this job, you are required to provide your own internet access, due to working from home.


Major Duties and Responsibilities
(These duties are illustrative only. Incumbents may perform some or all of these duties or other job-related duties as assigned.)

  • Gather and analyze information from stakeholders, business owners, customers and management for implementation of information technology solutions.

  • Identify documents and analyze business requirements.

  • Create Information Technology process flows and flowcharts.

  • Analyze, review, and recommend possible solutions to identified business problems thru the implementation of technical solutions.

  • Perform validation of solutions by analyzing the end product and the requirements specifications.

  • Perform as liaison between various stakeholders, managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring successful communications between project team members.

  • Assist with managing risks and changes related to processes, projects and procedures.

  • Assist in developing project task plans, leading meetings and other related tasks to gather and coordinate activities for requirements gathering.

  • Develop understanding of advanced business modeling, technology solutions, vendor solution evaluations, and recommendations to meet defined business requirements.

The ideal candidate, at minimum, must have the following:


  • Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science, information systems, or business administration;


  • AND 36 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: creating and coordinating technical and business requirements for processes, projects and procedures, working with business users and technical staff to develop strategies and leading modification or creation of new systems for implementation of information technology solutions.

OR 

  • Completion of associate core program in computer science, information systems, or business administration;


  • AND 42 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: creating and coordinating technical and business requirements for processes, projects and procedures, working with business users and technical staff to develop strategies and leading modification or creation of new systems for implementation of information technology solutions.

OR 

  • 60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: creating and coordinating technical and business requirements for processes, projects and procedures, working with business users and technical staff to develop strategies and leading modification or creation of new systems for implementation of information technology solutions.

OR 

  • Equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
