RTI International's Center for Behavioral Health Epidemiology, Implementation, and Evaluation Research (CBHEIER) is seeking a Senior Researcher in the discipline of health services research, epidemiology, psychology, sociology, or public policy. The successful applicant should have demonstrated experience in behavioral health research with a focus on the military population preferred. The position also requires demonstrated experience in project leadership and business development. The Center conducts contract and grant funded work in behavioral health research with a primary focus on mental health (e.g., PTSD) and substance use (e.g., misuse, substance use disorders), to meet RTI's mission of improving the human condition by turning knowledge into practice.
The successful applicant must have the ability to correctly conceptualize behavioral health research questions; design and implement appropriate research methods; obtain the necessary data; apply appropriate quantitative and/or qualitative techniques; and effectively communicate both orally and in writing with clients and staff, including non-technical audiences. The successful candidate also will be expected to lead contract and/or grant proposals to government agencies and other funding sources as well as contribute to the division's business development activities. The candidate should have an interest in contributing to the profession through publications and presentations. RTI International provides extensive support to assist in all aspects of the research process.
Office locations include Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and the Washington, DC area. Telework arrangements are also permitted.
