Job Description:

The Center for Student Success at the Michael F. Price College of Oklahoma exists to enhance the Purpose of Price through undergraduate student engagement in opportunities that will help prepare students for success in a diverse global business environment. This position reports to the Director of the Center for Student Success (CSS) and will manage our placement efforts to ensure that students from all business majors have paid internships during their program of study and gainful employment upon graduation. 

We are looking for a team member that will assist students with career development and planning processes and develop strong relationships with potential employers in strategic industries. You will coordinate with OU Career Services and build relationships with students, alumni, faculty, and staff. 


  • Manage Price College’s placement efforts to ensure that students from all business majors, especially where a legacy of employer relations is limited, have paid internships during their program of study and gainful employment upon graduation

  • Plan, coordinate and conduct events and workshops, in conjunction with the Center for Student Success, aimed at better preparing students for employment and internships

  • Assist students with career development and planning processes, including obtaining information on companies, current opportunities for employment and hiring practices, and helping them make the transition from school to career

  • Provide instruction about career planning in the professional development classes

  • Collaborate with and support student organizations focused on professional development, internships and job placement

  • Strengthen and deepen existing relationships with employers, both in the area and outside

  • Develop strong relationships with potential employers in strategic industries and aspirational employers across all industries, especially those outside the geographical and legacy areas and promote employment-related services to these constituencies

  • Assist as needed the efforts of career placement services for graduate students housed at the Gene Rainbolt Graduate School of Business

  • Participate in professional development activities to ensure professional growth and knowledge needed to provide effective leadership of student placement activities

  • Plan and implement on-campus and virtual recruiting events, including company information sessions, in conjunction with OU Career Services

  • Coordinate with OU Career Services regarding Handshake and explore ways to better leverage its capabilities for placing business majors

  • Prepare regular reports, assist with rankings data collection efforts, and analyze data relevant to the career placement of students and alumni

  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with students, alumni, faculty, staff and the community

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent combination of education/job-related experience, AND:


  •  18-36 months experience in career planning and/or career services.

Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers and communicate including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others. 

Department Preferences:


  • University experience in an academic administration

  • University experience and knowledge of OU systems

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in career planning and/or career services, preferably in a centralized operation at a large university

  • Biliteracy
