Job Description:

The majority of our roles will continue working from home through September. Once campus restrictions begin easing in October, we will continue to encourage employees to take a virtual-first approach to their work when possible. Job Description

Assists with the complex analysis, evaluation, and planning needed to achieve the State Health Plan's goal and objectives. Initiatives may include new products, networks or services needed to meet the requirements of the State Health Plan contract. Promotes enterprise understanding of the strategy to retain the State Health Plan account and meet their objectives. Assist development and execution of initiatives across multiple segments of the organization to meet these objectives.


  • Support the State Segment team in identifying, evaluating and implementing products, programs, partnerships and strategies to meet BCBSNC's growth objectives.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for the State Health Plan leadership team regarding ad hoc requests, escalated issues and reports

  • Facilitate, collaborate and/or support cross-functional projects and teams to achieve State segment objectives and priorities, acting as a representative of the State Health Plan

  • Leverage State Health Plan insights to develop strategies, programs and plans that effectively drive business outcomes and ensure customer retention

  • Support critical activities such as strategic planning, proposal development, quarterly reviews, complex financial/qualitative analysis and thought leadership at a segment and enterprise levels.

  • Communicate and present information at regular intervals to both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including leadership, to effectively drive programs/initiatives.

  • Assist with the identification and assessment of strategic partners to provide innovative solutions to meet the State Health Plan's needs

  • Organize, measure and communicate progress towards the completion of overall work portfolio.

  • Analyze and monitor relevant industry, regulatory, technology and market-based trends impacting state or government clients.

Hiring Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years' experience in strategic/business development, strategic planning, marketing strategy or product development or project management.

  • OR Master's degree with at least 2 years' experience as stated above.

  • Candidate must have solid background and experience in marketing, product development, strategy/planning, client management as determined by the specific business area's needs.

  • Experience serving as a liaison to business executives, internal and external, and other outside advisors

  • Should have some experience related to the management and delivery of programs, projects and work efforts in a portfolio-based environment

  • Experience working externally with customers
