Summary:

ATI Millersburg is looking for a Research and Development (R&D) Project Facilitator to join our team. This is a day shift position and typically works Monday - Friday from 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, with some flexibility on hours. The Project Facilitator serves as the key point of contact for development projects. These projects are initiatives to expand ATI offerings and capabilities so that we continue to solve the current and future materials science problems for our customers.

The Project Facilitator is responsible for leading and driving the efforts of teams that are focused on projects for new ATI products, significant improvements in manufacturing processes, and collaborations with ATI customers and/or end users. You will also responsible for tracking the full portfolio of development projects, to facilitate the process of innovation at ATI.

In order to provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn our processes, establish trust and take ownership of projects. A successful Project Facilitator will have strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with many stakeholders, be able to work with diverse personalities, have an eye for detail, be self-directed and take charge of projects from beginning to completion.

Primary Responsibilities

* Lead project teams to completion of the stated objectives on time and within budget and scope.

* Define project milestones and plan.

* Assign responsibilities for action items, track progress and ensure accountability.

* Recognize any obstacles to project execution, and drive to resolution.

* Coordinate effectively with diverse roles to ensure continuous progress toward shared objectives.

* Project teams may include research engineers, development and materials engineers, business development or commercial sales managers, operational leaders, and finance and accounting representatives.

* Team members may be personnel at ATI Millersburg, employees at other ATI business units, or employees of ATI customers, Government entities, and/or end users.

* Provide timely and appropriate communication to project stakeholders.

* Prepare status reports for management and senior leadership.

* Ensure that each project has sufficient resources, either directly or indirectly, to accomplish its goals.

* Escalate unresolved issues to leadership.

* Provide final report and documentation upon completion of each project.

* Lead multiple separate teams in parallel, with the exact total number (at any given time) dependent on the scope and complexity of each project.

* Work with technology and business development managers to define objective, scope, timeline, resourcing requirement, and financial opportunity for new projects as the ideas are generated.

* Facilitate the decision-making process where priorities are defined by management.

* Track the backlog of development projects, maintaining the information listed above as well as maturity, milestones, and resource assignments for each project.

* Ensure that all completed projects have documentation, e.g. engineering report, process change report, and/or associated production item numbers.

Basic Qualifications

*Minimum of an Associate's degree.

* Minimum of 2 years' experience working in manufacturing or industrial environment.

* In lieu of manufacturing or industrial experience, at least 2 years managing government research projects.

Preferences

* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

* Prior experience with successfully managing projects, preferably involving materials development and/or manufacturing and/or government contracts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Project management concepts and tools and planning processes.

* General practices and procedures involved in materials science and manufacturing.

* Interpersonal communication, both written and verbal.

* Negotiation, conflict resolution, and generating consensus among team members.

* Organizing information on the current portfolio of projects.

* Gain buy-in from team members and assign responsibility for action items.

* Establish structure and pace of a project, including clear scope and a regular meeting cadence.

* Close a project definitively with a final report or formal handoff to another owner.
