Job Description:


Summary:

Assists the Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator - Orthotics and Prosthetics

Essential Job Responsibilities:


  • Assists in the collection, processing, and tracking of orders for MFB Orthotics & Prosthetics utilizing the OPIE purchasing and inventory software.

  • Fills clinicians' and technicians' submitted materials orders in the manner determined by the P&I Coordinator.

  • Inputs purchase orders, and other required data, to OPIE.

  • Follows-up on back-orders, processes returns and investigates and resolves any issues.

  • Gathers data from vendors to support maintenance of current vendor product offering information/catalogues and price lists.

  • Assists in the management of orthotics and prosthetics inventory.

  • Ensures that the receipt and utilization of inventory is fully and properly recorded in the OPIE system

  • Conducts physical counts and performs data entry to allow for maintenance of inventory records by location.

  • Communicates regularly with clinical and technical staff to allow for the maintenance of appropriate inventory levels.

  • Reports suspected inventory waste and/or obsolescence risk related to stagnant inventory.

  • Transfers inventory and purchased or fabricated devices between locations when necessary.

  • Stocks consumables inventory at various locations.

  • Ensures that exam rooms are properly stocked with tools and supplies.

  • Reconciles Invoices to Purchase Order and Packing Slips to ensure timely payment of invoices and achieving discount terms from vendors, when applicable.

  • Codes invoices and transfers to Accounts Payable for vendor to be paid. Audits vendor statements

  • Ships, receives and transfers devices and materials as directed, both on foot and by vehicle.

  • Completes special projects as requested.

Essential Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Education, and Training Requirements):


  • High School diploma required, Associates degree preferred.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Computer/database/software systems proficiency.

  • Purchasing and inventory experience preferred.

  • Experience in orthotics and prosthetics preferred.

  • Experience with OPIE purchasing and inventory system preferred.

  • Valid State of MI Drivers License and ability to transport devices between locations (using MFB fleet or personal vehicle).
