SJS Executives is currently looking for a facilities planner to work within the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) in Portsmouth, VA. Our ideal candidate will be able to offer professional services on assigned projects concerning design, construction, development or installation of buildings and facilities within NNSY.
Responsibilities
Provides technical guidance in the development and execution of facilities project development and design, master planning, space requirements, real estate issues, engineering design review, and other issues required to support the total facility needs.
Prepare master plans, development plans and related documents in collaboration with stakeholders and in support of a comprehensive and integrated approach to installation land development.
Inspects buildings and office areas to evaluate suitability for occupancy, considering such factors as air circulation, lighting, location, and size.
Plans utilization of space and facilities consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency and available facilities and funds.
Support compatible land use planning efforts associated with encroachment planning and noise analysis and related land use studies to sustain dynamic mission requirements.
Review site approval requests for consistency with master plans and related documents and prepare site approval documents for approval processing.
Review tenant space use requests, perform analysis, and process approval documents.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizen
Bachelor's Degree in Planning or Engineering/Architecture with a Minimum Five (5) years of experience
5 years of experience planning at a shipyard - Preferred.
Experience with the below - Preferred.
Basic Facility Requirements (BFRs)
Internet Navy Facility Assets Data Store (iNFADS)
Installation Condition Assessment Program (ICAP)
Development of planning support A&E scopes of services
Experience with DD1391s and Electronic Project Generator (EPG)
Experience with master long range planning as well as shipyards
Must be able to pass extensive background and drug screen.
