As the Lead Specialist, Billing, you will help coordinate billing and related tasks as liaison between Operations and Accounting/Finance for our Air Charter business unit, working with operations and business unit leaders to create and implement effective billing/settlement process .

What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Audit freight invoices by interpreting and applying customer contracts, terms and conditions

  • Research, analyze and identify issues and errors on freight invoices and bills of lading; collaborate with internal and external parties as needed to resolve issues

  • Audit invoices before sending to customer to verify they are accurate and collectible

  • Perform account maintenance to add, change or delete customer information, data elements or attributes

  • Reconciliation of TMS and ERP systems and input into continuous improvement

  • Weekly and monthly operational and financial reporting

  • Perform various office management/administrative duties


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • 2 years related experience in transportation including TMS interaction and carrier/customer contract auditing and accounts receivable

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word & Excel)


It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Highly organized work style with the proven ability to multitask and prioritize workloads

  • Demonstrated analytical skills; ability to effectively identify and resolve problems
