Summary

The West Valley Regional Cashier is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team who functions under the direction and supervision of a Supervisor. The regional Cashier serves as a resource for internal and external customers by utilizing a number of resources such as established Cigna policies; protocols and guidelines to ensure delivery of quality care within the guidelines of Cigna Medical Group Standard Operating Procedures, Policies, and Procedures. Contributes to the organization's drive to achieve "Triple Aim": improved individual customer experience, improved health and quality of care, and reduced cost of care.

Work hours are: 6:00am- 3:00pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• 
  Processes daily cash close-outs and bank deposits at multiple locations in the West Valley Region (3-5 depending on center size).
  
  


• Verifies daily banks, collections, encounters, and reports for all departments, ensuring accuracy.
  
  


• Processes paperwork and maintain appropriate copies and/or logs.
  
  


• Verify and make change for front office "banks" for Medical Administrative Associates.
  
  


• Count cash, checks, credit card payments, and vouchers received by various departments.
  
  


• Run batch reports via computer system. Review all paperwork received for accuracy and completeness.
  
  


• Provide reasons/rectify reports if overage/shortage. Obtain appropriate signatures. Ensure appropriateness of refunds and voids.
  
  


• Prepare all monies, bank deposit slips, and other necessary paperwork for the bank and Cash Control.
  
  


• Provides exceptional customer service and maintains business and patient confidentiality.
  
  


• Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, clinicians, patients, families, as well as external contacts, such as attorneys, insurance companies, other healthcare providers and agencies.
  
  


• 
  Must be able to travel to other centers in West Valley, depending on clinic size, will travel to 3-5 centers a day. Mileage will be reimbursed.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
  
  


• Medical terminology preferred.
  
  


• Previous experience as a cashier/handling cash highly preferred
  
  


• One year customer service and PC skills required.
  
  


• One year customer service in health care & cash handling experience preferred.
  
  


• Ability to convey information to customers in a warm, clear, concise manner.
  
  


• Very strong attention to detail
  
  


• Demonstrates positive customer service behaviors.
