We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team as a Senior Project Manager who will be able to demonstrate experience in mitigation and disaster recovery activities, with specific experience in HUD and FEMA compliance.  The candidate should understand the intricacies of local, state, and federal government as they pertain to disaster recovery and also have an in-depth understanding of compliance with the rules and regulations of HUD and FEMA for the Public Assistance (PA), Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA), and Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery and Mitigation (CDBG-DR) and (CDBG-MIT).  Additionally, the candidate will need to have strong management skills and be able to oversee a team with varying years and levels of experience. This may also include coordinating and managing the work of staff members from teaming partners. This position is based out of our office in Thallahassee, FL and reports to the Project Director.

How will you contribute to the team?

This position would be directly responsible for managing large scale programs and projects related to the disaster recovery and mitigation programs. The position would work on various projects and help develop timelines for project completion, assist with staffing, directly interface with client points of contact, and would also be involved in business development, as needed. The successful candidate will be well-versed in setting up project controls, building budgets and maintaining project finances, leading staff, tracking deliverables and milestones, and implementing overall programs. It is critical that the candidate be able to understand and respond to the constantly shifting nature of disaster recovery and be able to maintain good relationships across all stakeholders and individuals within the team and with the client in order to ensure satisfactory delivery of the program and project.

What will you contribute?


  • A Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in a related field.

  • At least 10 years of experience in implementing or working in disaster recovery programs.

  • Specific experience with the FEMA and HUD CDBG-DR and/or CDBG-MIT Programs.

  • Experience in developing or approving recovery grant applications.

  • Experience managing large projects (over $1M), including developing project controls, tracking performance, and overseeing fiscal/budget plans.

  • Experience managing clients and interacting directly with ultimate owners of deliverables and services.
