Job Description



Responsible for managing multiple, diverse, simultaneous Design & Development programs of varying complexities from inception through completion and ensuring that assigned programs meet cost, schedule, technical and contractual requirements. Establishes and defines a vision for how each program will progress through completion utilizing our stage gate process and convey same vision to IPT (Integrated Product Team), PMO and senior leadership. Supports proposal manager for assigned proposals, develops BOEs for Program Management estimates, supports management and technical responses, and works with the proposal manager to ensure compliance to all RFP requirements.








Duties & Responsibilities



Responsibilities:



  • Assume ownership and accountability for assigned programs to ensure program execution meets customer expectations and schedules while meeting the organization's financial objectives.

  • Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPT) in the planning and execution of multiple, complex, new product development and/or production programs in the commercial and defense markets

  • Develop WBS, budgeting, and project schedules for each assigned program. Utilize program review process to provide visibility on program health during monthly program reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with government and customer requirements Identify, quantify and report program risks and opportunities, develop plans to mitigate those risks, and execute mitigation plans.

  • Develop time-phased estimates for each program and report to leadership per sanctioned governance, which includes forecasting / managing project revenue and billings.

  • Demonstrate relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem solving and change management skills to provide supervision, guidance, and task assignments to program IPT.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical, oral, and written communication and critical thinking skills with the ability to function in high pressure and short-turnaround situations

  • Manage and clearly communicate program status, issues, and concerns to internal and external customers.

  • Act as a liaison between Operations and other support organizations on financial issues. Interface with subcontractors, suppliers and customers and manage extensive investigations through the IPT as required.

  • Ensure compliance with Company procedures, such as government procurement regulations and program plan requirements, to include Program Management stage gate processes from project kick-off to production readiness.

  • Must have the ability to solve complex problems, work independently, and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines and think strategically to develop plans and translate into tactical actions.

  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Individual



Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in a Business or Engineering discipline required


Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of program management or project engineering required, primarily managing new product Design & Development and Internal Research & Development (IRAD) projects. Project management of production programs is a plus.


Certification: Program Management Professional (PMP) certification is required, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date


Knowledge/Skills: Must possess a strong orientation for customer focus and teamwork. Strong leadership and project management skills.


Requires excellent written and oral communication, diplomacy and negotiation skills. Requires the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization. Advanced knowledge of MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are required, with high proficiency skills in MS Project. Highly organized and self-driven with excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team. Relevant domain experience preferred in: RF and Antenna Systems design, integration and test; missiles and munitions antennas; or electronic Warfare antenna technology.
