Hughes has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Systems Analyst. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD, and is a part of our HughesNet Consumer Service Management organization.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the development of requirements for new services and features for the HughesNet Consumer Satellite Internet service, in the areas of cyber security, user data protection, and compliance.


• Act as bridge between business groups and technical security teams
  • Manage this relationship and help drive further collaboration within the organization
  
  


• Help drive compliances such as PCI DSS & major credit score bureau compliances
  • Devise and Document policies/procedures surrounding compliances
  
  


• Assists the Service Delivery organization in evaluating business processes and policies to ensure they follow best practices in maintaining customer data integrity and application security.
  • Help drive further best practices around information and cyber security
  
  


• Maintains proficiency and expertise with relevant data protection laws and regulations, and industry requirements related to security, encryption, and data protection.


• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities around architecture and security.


• Knowledge in network architecture
  • Ability to document various system architectures
  
  


• Curate information and cyber security solutions to reduce operational risk and cost


• Monitor, investigate, and help reduce inbound/outbound spam from Hughes' email service


• Tests internal, third-party, and customer-facing Hughes applications and tools for security vulnerabilities and functionality.


• Provides security-related test cases for user acceptance test plans.


• Build proactive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams in the company so you understand the relevant questions and needs of the business and use that to advise.


• Efficiently run with a project, work independently and proactively in evaluating business processes and policies to ensure they follow best practices in maintaining customer data integrity and application security

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Cyber/Information Security, Computer Science or related field


• 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.


• 2+ years industry experience in consumer facing product.

• Knowledge of satellite networking, or internet networking generally
