Laboratory Analyst Trainee

YOUR ROLE RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALES O ESENCIALES: ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:


  • Sampling, inspection and testing:
a. Samples, inspects and tests raw materials against established specifications, using Henkel's sampling inspection and test methods as appropriate.

b. Inspects and tests intermediate and bulk products against established specifications, using Henkel's inspection and test methods as appropriate.


  • Disposition materials based on tests and inspection results and labels materials as required.

  • Communicates to Manufacturing and Materials Control personnel the results of tests and inspections in a timely manner. Issues Quality Review Notices as required.
  • Assures the laboratory gages and equipment under his/her responsibility is properly maintained and calibrated. Maintains current the standardization of test solutions in area of responsibility. Carries out calibrations as required by the Quality Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Handles troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and works with instruments and equipment such as: Spectrophotometers, Titrators, GC, HPLC, FTIR, IC, Plasma Emission and Color Spectroscopy, Instron & others.
  • Secures, labels, stores, and properly maintains retained samples as required: prompt retrieval of samples must be achieved.
  • Keeps working area orderly clean. Follow 5S.
  • Uses statistical techniques, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) in gathering and communicating observations, trends, results as the situation may require.
  • Follows the Quality Control procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintains current files of raw materials, intermediate and bulk product specifications, and test methods.
  • Maintains adequate and appropriate laboratory supplies.
  • Implements new or revised test methods for raw materials, intermediates, and bulk products.
  • Handles testing and investigation of special projects and prepare summary reports.
  • Conducts and report tests related to customer complaints.
  • Must travel, upon request.

YOUR SKILLS REQUISITOS/CUALIFICACIONES: REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a Chemical / Process laboratory.
  • One year of experience working with analytical laboratory equipment, desirable. Plasma emission Spectroscopy, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, etc.
  • Oral and written skills in English and Spanish
