Job Description:

Big Ass Fans is seeking an experienced Commodity Manager to join our purchasing team at our Lexington, KY headquarters. The ideal candidate would have 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in the purchasing/supply chain field with a Strategic Sourcing focus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and source components


• Metals, Plastics, Electronic components, printed circuit boards, distribution channels, and contract manufacturers knowledge preferred


• Negotiate the cost and lead time with approved suppliers


• Develop, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers


• Visit suppliers plants/factories to examine and learn about products, services, and processes


• Manage and report sourcing and cost savings initiatives to senior management


• Resolve issues related to supplier quality, pricing, and delivery in a timely manner


• Evaluate forecasts to formulate long term material plans


• Minimize freight costs


• Dual-source critical parts/components

Requirements

• Must have solid buying experience and the ability to estimate the cost 


• Knowledge of Sourcing Strategies with experience managing Metals, Plastics, Electronic components, printed circuit boards, distribution channels, and contract manufacturers components 


• Expertise in Electronic components, printed circuit boards, and distribution channels preferred


• Bachelor's degree is required


• 8-10 years minimum strategic sourcing experience


• Earn others’ trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions


• Work cooperatively with others without regard to level or status to achieve results


• Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work, and achieve results with little oversight


• Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment
