Responsibilities

Dematic, a KION operating unit, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative Product Manager to contribute to both the strategy and direction of Dematic’s industry-leading robotics solutions. Dematic is passionate about making our customers successful in deploying end-to-end automation solutions and foster a culture of collaboration, active and open communication, integrity, and respect. We are looking for a visionary strategic thinker with enterprise experience who can help the organization increase the value Dematic provides to customers.

The Robotics Product Manager (RPM) partners closely with the Robotic Center of Excellence (RCOE) Leader to set the strategic direction of the long-term product roadmap. The RPM is responsible for developing the product strategy and supporting technical & business justification. This role analyzes the trends that shape our industry and apply them to our portfolio of solution and subsystems to identify how to position Dematic for long-term success. The RPM will be responsible for assessing opportunities where robotics will increase efficiency, unlock new revenue opportunities, innovate beyond common practices, and/or improve the customer experience.

In this role, you will report directly to the Global Product & Solutions (GPS) Product team with a dotted line responsibility to the Robotics Center of Excellence leader. You will tackle highly sophisticated problems, gain insight into the strategic and operational issues which are forefront in the minds of the peer Product Management teams, and have the chance to create relationships with people across the entire company. This is a hands-on position that requires strategic vision, excellent communication skills, and talent for managing all the elements in bringing successful products and services to market. You will formulate and execute strategies and metrics that drive growth and improve the business.

You Are


  • A professional with a product management, engineering, finance, and/or consulting background.

  • An expert in all areas of strategy development and execution including project management, business analysis, balanced scorecards, problem-solving, communication at all levels of the organization, consensus building, solution selling, and GTM planning. 

  • A   professional with industrial or Supply Chain robotics experience.

  • Able to demonstrate that you can facilitate collaborative outcomes in unstructured and ambiguous   environments.

  • Familiar with a variety of software development methodologies and processes.

  • An excellent Communicator with the ability to communicate successfully across multiple teams, and levels of the company.

  • Able to lead, influence, and drive extended and virtual teams who have no direct reporting responsibility to you.

  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic, collaborative, and innovative high-growth environment with minimal supervision.

You Will


  • Develop competitive analysis, identify and assess competitive strengths, as well as provide insights to the business through analytics and market research as required (e.g. market, customer, competitive).

  • Develop and present product vision and strategy recommendations based on collaboration with cross-functional teams, competitive and industry analysis, and business model analysis.

  • Lead Robotics Center of Excellence (RCOE) and all internal stakeholders through Dematic’s internal product development and new product introduction process (known as GOLD).

  • Work with cross-functional team (product, RCOE, development, marketing, sales, alliances, corp. dev) to conduct build vs. buy vs. partner analyses to execute on growth opportunities

  • Collaborate with market development specialists to understand the changing customer landscape, competitive environment, customer needs and use-cases, and how these should influence the development of our product roadmap.


Qualifications

You Have


  • 5 years’ experience in product management, strategy, business operations, and/or consulting roles with strong exposure to technology.

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, other technical field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of experience with robotics or automation solutions.

  • Knowledge of complex systems and the interconnectivity between mechanics, machine control logic, and onboard/offboard software.

  • Experience in the material handling, logistics, warehouse automation, supply chain or similar industries.

  • Experience managing budgets, financial models, and/or product P&L.
