Position Overview:
SOM Chicago is seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented individual to create compelling marketing materials that support the business development efforts of our global design practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and be able to generate engaging and refined content and collateral within a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct market research and assist in defining market strategy for our practice.
Collaborate with leadership to develop written material to preposition SOM.
Manage new business development activities including potential client and lead tracking.
Team with Marketing Manager and Practice Area Leadership to develop proposals and qualifications, coordinate submissions, curate highly image-driven portfolios of the firm’s work.
Participate in interview preparation and strategy.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of marketing experience in a professional service field; preferably within a design related field.
Exceptional writing and research skills.
Ability to work effectively in an environment with multiple deadlines and stakeholders, executing and prioritizing tasks efficiently and accurately.
Strong visual and storytelling ability.
Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills.
Comfortable in a fast-paced team environment, working with a heightened attention to detail and an emphasis on quality.
Strong interpersonal skills and a disposition that is positive and professional.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, communications, design or other related field of study.
Competency in Adobe Creative Suite.
