Job Summary 

The IT Director of SAP is responsible for driving the end-to-end technical visioning, realization, and support of Oldcastle Building Envelope’s SAP transformation initiative.  This effort is a green field SAP deployment across three business units.  This position requires broad SAP functional and technical experience across multiple modules and generations of technology, cloud hosting setup and maintenance.  The incumbent will lead a team of functional and technical experts and solution architects.

Job Responsibilities 


  • Design, build, and lead an IT organization to deploy, support, and improve SAP modules.

  • Understand functionality of multiple SAP modules and how the modules and capabilities work together to complete an end-to-end process. 

  • Collaborate and communicate with system integration and application vendor leadership to maximize value and maintain accountability.

  • Develop and continuously improve the transformation governance model, including forums, stakeholders, scope, cadence and RACI.

  • Partner with change management team members to ensure cohesive transformation plans including change deliverables.

  • Engage with transformation business and IT leaders as a strategic thought partner to develop and devise scope, structure, and approach to delivering value with a new or existing initiative.

  • Design and deliver best-in-class and simple program management approaches to help stakeholders manage program deliverables, interdependencies, risks, etc.

  • Anticipate roadblocks and proactively address issues before they impact business results. Ensure relevant programs/projects are on track, including budget, timeline, and scope.

Education/Experience/Skills


  • Experience in IT leadership role relating to SAP deployment, support and innovation

  • BA or BS Degree preferred

  • Experience working with various project and portfolio management tools and methodologies (e.g., Planview, MS Office including Project, SharePoint, and Visio, ServiceNow, PPM, Agile/Scrum methods, /waterfall)

  • Experience successfully managing diverse teams (e.g., outsourced, multi-vendor, or geographically distributed).

  • Experience in S/4 HANA Implementation / System Conversion / Landscape Transformation OR implementation of the SAP Cloud applications using AGILE / SAP ACTIVATE methodology

  • Ability to engage and influence SAP strategic direction for customers, translate business needs into solution requirements.

  • Ability to partner with stakeholders to develop business cases, architecture and deployment roadmaps focused on SAP solutions to deliver thoughtful IT solutions to customer business.

  • Strong spoken and written articulation skills for business and IT leadership stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple priorities in a sometimes constrained timeline.

  • Leadership skills with ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • 75% travel required through deployment, as necessary after deployment
