Job Summary 

The IT Director of SAP PMO is responsible to drive the deployment and stand up the support and innovation functions of the Oldcastle Building Envelope’s SAP transformation initiative.  This effort is a green field SAP deployment across three business units.  This position requires extensive knowledge and experience with delivering SAP deployments using the SAP Activate methodology, driving execution of transformative change across multiple lines of business and leading cross-functional virtual organizations.  The incumbent will lead a small team of project coordinators to ensure on-time, on-budget, and full-scope deployment.

Job Responsibilities 


  • Use Program & Project Management expertise to lead delivery across complex engagements, maximize delivery impact, transform thinking, and influence decision making.  Ensure full deployment completes on-time, on-budget and in full scope.

  • Own all aspects of delivery focusing on delivery excellence and creating lasting change for clients.

  • Dive deep into the challenges facing successful deployment and think big to develop creative solutions to toughest problems.

  • Develop trusted relationships with leadership, stakeholders, users, and customers that result in smooth change management and accurate communication of statuses.

  • Contribute to the future of the firm by leading internal initiatives to build its capability and expertise in Program & Project Management.

  • Be known as a recognized thought leader in Program & Project Management.

  • Design, build, and lead an IT organization to leverage SAP Activate and best in class agile or waterfall practices and toolsets.

  • Collaborate and communicate with system integration and application vendor leadership to maximize value and maintain accountability.

  • Partner with change management team members to ensure cohesive transformation plans including change deliverables.

  • Anticipate roadblocks and proactively address issues before they impact business results.

  • Manage deliverables, interdependencies, risks, etc. between business and technical tracks and internal and external partners.

Education/Experience/Skills


  • Previous experience in SAP PMO leadership role with multiple full-cycle deployments

  • BA or BS Degree preferred

  • Experience working with various project and portfolio management tools and methodologies

  • Experience successfully managing diverse teams (e.g., outsourced, multi-vendor, or geographically distributed).

  • Ability to engage and influence SAP strategic direction for customers, translate business needs into solution requirements.

  • Strong spoken and written articulation skills for business and IT leadership stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple priorities in sometimes constrained timelines.

  • Leadership skills with ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • 75% travel required through deployment, as necessary after deployment
