Summary of Job Duties:

University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the state's largest two-year college, is accepting applications for a Full-Time Nine Month Lead Culinary Instructor at the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute. The Instructor is required to teach a full load (5 classes) at the UA Pulaski Technical College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute, under the direct supervision of the Director and Associate Dean at the U A Pulaski Technical College Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* In control at all times of ordering and the maintaining of food and non-food products needed for instruction of classes.
* Maintain cleanliness of classroom, kitchen and storage areas; oversee periodic maintenance and cleaning of equipment and work areas.
* Provide academic leadership of the school in conjunction with the Director and Associate Dean.
* Assist with maintaining appropriate relationships with the licensing bodies.
* Sustain and develop course curriculums and future academic programs.
* Oversee and input program assessment each semester
* Attend faculty development seminars
* Pursue appropriate certification through the American Culinary Federation, the American Hotel and Lodging Association, the Worldchefs Society or other certification bodies.
* Assist with periodic program review no less frequently than every three to five years for each academic program.
* Assist with maintaining national accreditation through the American Culinary Federation.
* Assist with maintaining national accreditation through The Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration.
* Assist with Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute Special Events.
* Engage in the ongoing processes and activities necessary for evaluation and professional development of faculty.
* Advise and register students; assist with career placement services.
* Assist the Director and Associate Dean in all ways necessary to grow and maintain the integrity of the program.
* Promote the goals of the school both internally and externally.
* Promote the mission of UA- Pulaski Technical College.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in one or more of these areas: culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, hospitality management or a related field from an accredited institution.
Certified or Certifiable in one or more of these areas: CEC, CEPC, CCE with the American Culinary Federation and/or Worldchefs Society or other certification body.
Prior work experience in applicable field.
Four years of supervisory experience in a foodservice operation or college level teaching experience.
Commitment to the mission of the comprehensive two-year college and its role in total community development.
Leadership and managerial abilities, including excellent organizational, computer and communications skills.
Understanding and commitment to equal access/equal opportunity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in a related field from a regionally-accredited institution.
Certified in one or more of these areas: CEPC, with the American Culinary Federation or WCEPC with the Worldchefs Society or other certification body.
