Role Description


The F&S team (Finance & Strategy) is the global champion for smart growth, delivering financial and business accountability, insight to optimize decisions, and shareholder success.

The primary role of the Analyst, F&S (Finance & Strategy) COE (Center Of Excellence) is to support the Manager and collaborate with peers in the end-to-end monthly data maintenance process. Additionally, the Analyst, F&S (Finance & Strategy) COE (Center Of Excellence) would provide continuous improvement to the current process, be it process improvement or automation using various technical applications (e.g. SQL, macros, etc.). It will be critical for this role to not just understand how to implement the required changes, but the "why" behind the business need. The analyst will also play a role on large-scale, multi-functional, transformational data projects as Salesforce continues to strive to be a best in class Finance organization. Having a solid understanding of finance organization, how they operate, and why is critical.

The Analyst, F&S (Finance and Strategy) COE (Center of Excellence) will gain a unique, holistic view of all the data and dimensionality used across the F&S (Finance and Strategy) organization, and in many cases across the company. This individual will also have the opportunity to continue to make improvement after improvement through various projects.

Your Impact


  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Finance & Strategy (F&S) organization, it's financial processes, and how it's operations are ultimately reflected in the COA/OneStream metadata

  • Be able to "speak the language" of the F&S organization and effectively bridge the gap back to our data

  • Build trusted relationships and partner cross functionally with key stakeholders as part of the monthly data mapping maintenance process

  • Assist end users with how to submit their COA / Mapping changes given this is a net new process / tool(s) for them to use

  • Act as the point of contact for all business financial dimension and mapping requests for F&S (Finance and Strategy)

  • Effectively review and vet all requests by fully understanding impacts of changes to other parts of the business and/or against our centralized data governance rules and policies

  • Drive resolution where business requests are in direct violation of our governances / processes

  • Define required metadata, transformation rule, and leader view mapping changes required in order to achieve business request

  • Submit changes to the technical team responsible for processing and perform various validation checks to ensure the data was adjusted as required

  • Assist with monthly kick-outs of unmapped intersections as they result each month

  • Support the overall F&S (Finance and Strategy) Data Governance council and update governance and process documentation as these evolve

  • Using MS Excel, OneStream, and other tools to locate, extract, manipulate, and analyze data.

  • Perform research, offer educated opinions based on your report, and assist with project management and technical writing.

  • Lead creative ideas for improving current processes; build automations as needed or partner with other technical teams to provide requirements

  • Support the Manager, F&S COE to effectively partner with other governing bodies across Salesforce to ensure policies / processes are aligned

  • Support the Manager, F&S COE and play a key role on various, data-related, large-scale transformation projects (e.g. chart of account cleanup, centralizing mapping within CFO organization, etc.)

  • Create detailed documentation of processes/work performed


Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors Degree, preferably in an analytical discipline (e.g. finance, business administration, accounting, mathematics, engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience

  • 2-3+ years of experience in FP&A, Accounting, Financial Consulting, Operations, or Data

  • Ability to manage multiple processes in a fast paced, multi-faceted environment with competing priorities

  • Stellar problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, business partners and technical communities

  • Medium to advanced skills in Excel

  • Experience with multi-dimensional databases, e.g. Hyperion or other financial systems

  • Highly motivated, proactive, self-aware, collaborative, flexible, responsive, positive and fun


Preferred Requirements


  • Proven process-improvement track record

  • Experience with reporting and analytics applications is a plus, e.g. Business Objects, Tableau, Salesforce Analytics

  • Experience and comfort with data analysis languages e.g. SQL, Python, R
