What you'll be doing...
The Director, Tableau Alliances focused on Direct Market Resellers will lead a team of Partner Development Managers who are responsible for the partnerships with our DMR (CDW, Insight and SHI) in US and Canada. This role requires a strong leader who will drive partner strategy and field execution for each of the strategic partners, as well as carrying direct report responsibility for highly specialized and highly motivated individuals.

Some of the things you'll be doing include...


  • Develop strategic business plans with DMR partners and align goals and objectives consistent with corporate strategy. Align sales, marketing, and services activities against these goals


  • Contribute to the overall strategic direction as a key member of the Partner leadership team


  • Meet & exceed quarterly partner sales targets while adhering to the Tableau sales rules of engagement


  • Create strategic relationships with senior decision makers within our key partners and ensure they are mapped to Tableau management


  • Leadership and management of the Partner Development team including resource management, hiring, mentorship and performance management


  • Aggressively work to maximize partner total sales potential through best practices, training and support


  • Communicate masterfully with partners on products and service offerings


  • Create systems and procedures to streamline partner management


  • Work with marketing to drive programs and events to extend the relationships to new prospects


  • Continually learn about new products and improve selling skills


  • Provide weekly reporting of pipeline and forecast


  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products


  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, product seminars and trade shows.


  • Prepare written presentations, reports, and price quotations


  • Conduct contract negotiations


  • Map Tableau partner organization to Tableau corporate organization, ensuring free cooperation and communication


Who you are...


  • Experienced. 15+ years demonstrated experience working in partner network (DMR is preferred). This includes 5+years in leading high-performance teams.


  • Performer. Demonstrated experience in the creation and execution of partner plans and programs.


  • Domain. Experience with analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling, and/or business intelligence preferred.


  • Entrepreneurial. Experience building and growing a business unit.


  • Go-Getter. Highly driven individual with an execution focus, a strong sense of urgency, and a belief in Tableau's mission.


  • Passion and Conviction. Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful.


  • Leader. Exceptional leadership skills: a strong recruiter and motivator of people.
