For the past several years, an important trend has been the expansion of large-scale facilities to support the growth of hyperscale companies, including the world's largest cloud service providers. Equinix has worked closely with these customers to support their interconnection and edge requirements in our International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers. Beginning with PA8 in Paris, we launched a strategy to build dedicated facilities specifically to serve these customers' large footprint requirements.

The joint ventures will enable us to meet these larger requirements in locations that are easily accessible from our IBX campuses to enable hyperscalers to fulfill their growing core workload requirements. We have launched "xScale" as the new name for these hyperscale data centers to define a new category of offerings for our customers. xScale data centers will provide the access to Equinix's comprehensive suite of interconnection and edge services that will tie into the hyperscale companies' existing access points at Equinix, and increase the speed of connectivity to their existing and future enterprise customers.

Job Summary: Independently performs and manages accounting for construction activities (CIP and PPE) within xScale joint ventures ("JVs") in partnership with the xScale controllership team. This role will manage divestiture/carve-out accounting related to portfolio sites with exposure to a wide network of the finance and operations teams. Acts as digital ambassador for the global capex organization in order to drive change and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Digital ambassador for global capex accounting team




• Divestiture accounting and process management




• Subject Matter Expert on all contractual agreements between EQIX and xScale JVs




• Review of cost allocation and recharge between EQIX and xScale JVs




• Month-end close of all capex accounting for xScale JVs




• Prepares and posts journal entries




• Performs flux analysis as well as ad hoc deliverables




• Prepares reconciliations




• Prepares audit requests




• Prepares month-end management reporting




• Works with upstream data owners, internal and external auditors, and global teams as needed for process improvement




• As needed, may participate in project work

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience. 5+ years experience highly preferred




• Bachelor's degree preferred




• CPA preferred




• Experience with fixed assets/capex within a global enterprise
