Summary of Major Responsibilities

The UX Researcher/Designer will plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research and recommend experience improvements. This role lives and breathes user experience, design, and research. The UX Researcher/Designer is full of curiosity about the whole human-understanding their challenges, their behaviors, and their lives. They are motivated to uncover innovative solutions based on all types of data, qualitative and quantitative alike, and are passionate about creating delightful digital solutions with a cross-functional team.

This position could be in office or remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Identify, plan, and execute qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand our users and their needs, identify experience improvements, and discover new opportunities.
  • Synthesize research results, prepare clear and impactful presentations, and deliver them to the team and broader organization.

  • Create personas, scenarios, storyboards, conceptual models, journey and experience maps, service blueprints, and/or other artifacts to help drive design vision and strategy.

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (including, but not limited to, product management, the UX team, the business, and the engineering team) to identify knowledge gaps in our understanding of the experience and contribute to solving for those gaps.

  • Contribute to digital product design and work with technology teams on implementation.

  • Apply strong problem-solving, analytical, and creative skills.

  • Apply strong organizational and time management skills with a proactive and logical approach to workload and ability to work both independently and within a team.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • 1+ years of experience designing or researching UX as either a student, designer, or researcher.

  • Demonstrated strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative UX research methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and communicate with a cross-functional team to include designers, product managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and break down complex business operation functions, customer journeys, user needs, and workflows.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with digital product design and/or human-centered design.

  • Experience with user testing to include A/B testing, surveys, unmoderated testing, and interviews.

  • Experience in healthcare, wellness, or digital health.

  • Experience with usertesting.com, Figma, PowerPoint, and whiteboarding apps (i.e., Lucidspark, Miro).

  • Experience with brainstorming solutions to hard problems with many constraints, and using sound judgement to assess problems, opportunities, and risks and translating those to UX recommendations.

  • Experience with service design and operations.

  • Completion of Certificate program in UX (i.e., boot camp).

  • Understanding of agile/scrum/Kanban methodologies.
