The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a(n) Senior Data Modeler, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading …data model solutions for healthcare analytic solutions for HIS products and customers. Working closely with a team of senior architects on solutions.


• Implementing …published data models, source to target mappings, and change control processes.


• Determining …the design, tools, and management of data model solutions for both structured and unstructured data used on our customer solutions. Analyzing data to drive the best solution.


• Supporting …multiple product lines and development teams for customers across the US and the globe. Working closely with business teams to define clear requirements for our data driven products.


• Creating …compliant, scalable, and resilient solutions to be implemented by product development team

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of ten (10) of experience in software industry experience in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement


• Two (2) years Data model lifecycle management (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical) with formal tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or Hackolade


• Two (2) years working in an agile development environment


• Three (3) years dimensional (star schema) modeling for Business Intelligence applications

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Amazon Web Services integration and data products (ex. Glue, DynamoDB, Athena, SageMaker)


• Modeling for AI/ML applications


• Python and/or Spark


• (2+) years modeling NoSQL and APIs


• Healthcare data formats: HL7, FHIR, Claims and Clinical Data

Travel: up to 10% domestic travel

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Location: Austin, TX / Atlanta, GA / Albany, NY / Meriden, CT

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
