The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will be.  The implementations will be at the 3M Manufacturing site in Valley, Nebraska. 

As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Lead the design and implementation of software systems that integrate with the upper level manufacturing and business data systems and the lower level control systems used to manufacture 3M products




• Manage and lead site technical training of software




• Creating and developing functionality elements from key stakeholder requirements




• Contribute to architecture and roadmap discussions




• Continuous improvement - Receive feature requests and enhancements from site




• Carrying out Quality Assurance and bug fixes as the need arises

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Computer Science or Software Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university




• Two (2) years Systems Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this, although not required for consideration include:

• Passion for SMART Manufacturing, Data Automation to create value




• Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment




• Project leadership experience




• Savigent Workflow Software




• C# Programming with MS Visual Studio




• Database skills with SQL scripts and stored procedures




• SQL reporting tools skills




• Use of REST APIs




• UI development




• Self-starter, results driven behaviors




• Strong oral and written communications skills

Travel: May include up to 5%

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
