The Business Analytics Advisor position is an opportunity for an analytics professional to provide leadership on complex analytics projects and initiatives. This role will work with an innovative team on setting and executing the vision for how advanced embedded analytics can lead Evernorth to achieving our growth goals.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Total Medical Cost, this role will work collaboratively with our Medical Management and contracting business stakeholders to provide partnership in analytics, developing analytics solutions, leveraging data science and technologic capabilities and embedding analytics driven processes.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and performs complex data research and analysis to support business operations including: data mining, data manipulation, contract modeling, statistical reporting and implementing data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets
  
  


• Establish full understanding of data and leverage data in an appropriate way (correct sources, clear assumptions, approved by business). Ensure code is appropriately documented and can be understood by other analysts.
  
  


• Support matrix partners on an ad hoc basis as needed to support various integral business functions
  
  


• Understand how our analytics affect the broader business bridging the gap between data science and our business stakeholders.
  
  


• Analysis and interpretation of financial information: produce accurate, timely, value-added analyses on medical claims and membership in support of national contracting Fee for Service & Fee for Value initiatives
  
  


• Deliver and present medical cost results to key matrix partners at various levels of the organization as well as to external partners
  
  


• Provide different level of reporting such as Monthly/Quarterly production of medical trends and drill-down data in a pro-active and timely basis
  
  


• Influence adoption of key initiatives and steward existing savings projection models and reporting tools
  
  


• Maintain strong communication with other TMC analysts to identify new opportunities and best practices
  
  


• Participation in industry activities and committees for self and departmental development
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years' healthcare industry experience solving business problems through the application of analytic approaches, particularly in analyzing medical claims experience in TMC and/or Contract Underwriting
  
  


• Fee-for-Service experience preferred
  
  


• Knowledge of standard medical coding: CPT, ICD10, HCPC
  
  


• Advanced experience with SQL/SAS and various other data mining and business intelligence tools
  
  


• Understanding of managed care business processes, data, systems, and applications for claims payment, enrollment, benefit design, and utilization management
  
  


• Advanced analytics experience providing content/professional leadership on complex assignments/projects; exercising considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives; uses deep analytics knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders
  
  


• Ability to influence and drive strategic planning, medical action plan development, and execution of plans through engagement of matrix partners, education on key drivers and actionable levers, and thorough understanding of market-level dynamics
  
  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
