What do you get to do in this position?

Stores, issues, delivers, receives, and maintains inventories on production and/or service department with raw stock, parts, work-in-process, finished goods, tools and supplies. Supplies cages and pallets to presses. Makes boxes and supplies cardboard flats as needed. Transfer released orders to shipping and receiving and may operate dump station. Ensures accuracy and quality of parts being transported. Starting hourly rate is $19.34 hour in addition to a shift premium depending on shift.


  • Prepare labels, packing slips, determine load number, pallet number, gross weight, etc. Perform data entry on computer associated with tracking shipments out and receipts in, print reports
  • Must ensure count accuracy of parts being transported with general inspection of product paperwork review
  • Make boxes, supply cardboard flats, cardboard boxes, pallets, rawstock, JIT parts, etc. as needed to support production
  • Job duties are typically self-paced.

GENERAL SKILLS/CHARACTERISTICS

  • Ability to meet production requirements and keep truck loading/unloading equal to pace of production and/or to meet time constraints for shipments
  • Ability to read, understand and follow procedures (both verbal and written English)
  • Ability to work safely, communicate effectively with supervisors and technical personnel, use good judgment, and work well around others
  • Ability to enter data accurately into a computer
  • Ability to cope with stressful situations, follow policies and procedures, solve problems, and maintain full commitment to the task
  • Ability to utilize good time management skills and multitask without constant supervision
  • Ability to operate various powered fork trucks, floor and table scales, stretch wrapper, automatic box former and other material handling equipment and successfully pass standardized exams for operator certification as appropriate

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required


Skills Necessary

  • Ability to read and understand written materials including production and inspection procedures

  • Ability to meet specific production standards

  • Ability to understand instructions


  • Ability to make inspections of work performed to maintain quality standards

  • Ability to work safely and report unsafe practices

  • Math ability including geometry

  • Ability to operate all equipment properly

  • Ability to appropriately use measuring instruments


  • Ability to write and record

  • Ability to drive a forklift


Physical Demands

  • Heavy work, Move maximum of 75 pounds

  • Stand and work 8 hours per day


  • Fine motor skills

  • Visual inspection of work required

  • General ability to push/pull objects

  • Two handed work required

  • Repetitive motion in most work


  • Some stooping and crouching required

  • Foot control required to operate some machinery
