Product Development Associate Engineer

YOUR ROLE
Use a variety of complex analytical instruments to study raw material structure, finished product characteristics and the impact of thermal interface materials processing history on their performances for Automotive applications.
Modify/Assess/Validate standard test methods, design new test fixturing and build prototypes to emulate customer conditions and to demonstrate requirements on key product characteristics are met.
Prepare data package and technical reports to demonstrate applicability of newly developed products in new applications. Present results, conclusions and recommendations to Henkel personnel and customers.
Perform new equipment installation, configuration, calibration and startup and deliver training on proper apparatus operation.
Conduct hands-on analytical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Establish relationship and partner with equipment suppliers for support concerning instrument use and guidance on method development.
YOUR SKILLS
M.S. or B.S. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Physics from an accredited university.
2 years work or internship experience in industrial research and development laboratory setting.
Will consider Associate/Two Year Technical degree with minimum of five (3) years work experience in industrial research and development laboratory setting
Specialized in at least one of the following: Programming and load frame testing of non-Newtonian polymer systems with a preference for highly filled materials. Development of thermal test vehicle and characterization of thermally conductive materials.
Firsthand experience and theoretical understanding of a variety of analytical instruments such as: load frame for mechanical testing, parallel plate and capillary rheometers, laser flash, SEM-EDX.
Conversant with prototype design for material characterization and hands-on machine shop skills for the fabrication of testing fixtures
Familiar with standard engineering software packages that entails data acquisition, instrument control, test automation, analysis and signal processing, embedded system design and statistical analysis.
