EVENT SERVICES MANAGER - Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa (Hotel) Passionate about hospitality and events?  As Conference Services Manager, you will exceed the guest’s expectations and needs in planning each event ensuring success from beginning to end.

What you will be doing - reporting to the Director, Event Services, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:


  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service 

  • Consistently meet or exceed team banquet revenue goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis

  • Organize convention bookings from date of booking to departure, including meeting requirements, guest room requirements, guest room pickup, food & beverage and audio visual 

  • Assist clients in meeting their expectations both conceptual and monetary while keeping in mind food costs, labor costs and hotel operations

  • Maintain strong client relations and ensure that meeting/event specifications are communicated, both internally and externally, and executed for a successful experience for the client, encouraging repeat business 

  • Create floor plans for each event to ensure banquets and clients are in agreement prior to set up 

  • Initiate billing procedures, ensuring any deposits and/or credit applications are received with adequate information and within an acceptable time frame 

  • Conduct pre-conference meetings with clients and pertinent departments to confirm all relevant details are communicated 

  • Conduct and/or attend daily meeting to review event contracts and ensure last minute changes are communicated with appropriate departments 

  • Assist group billing and accounting department  ( 2 hours per day)

  • Strategize with the team on new processes and actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions to improve the environment and hotel experience 

  • Communicate effectively with all departments and thrive for guest feedback

  • Assist in overall Hotel management responsibilities as needed

  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards 

  • Follow all health and safety policies  

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Previous experience planning and servicing catering events required, preferably in a luxury hotel environment

  • Previous experience with Property Management System preferred 

  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred

  • Service focused personality and passion for hospitality

  • Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders 

  • Communicate thoughts, actions and opportunities clearly with strong networking skills

  • Results oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure. 

  • Ability to lead by example, believe in a strong team culture and set the scene for high performance
