Molecular Biology Research Associate, NGS

Your Tasks

As a member of the Miltenyi Biotec team, you will be part of a multidisciplinary effort and will work collaboratively with the leads of the amplification, nucleotide and chemistry teams. Additionally, you will be participating in the development and improvement of DNA amplification technologies and integrate these technologies into the overall workflow. As a result of your ability to achieve a larger goal and to share our vision, you will support the continued success of Miltenyi Biotec as a whole.

Among other responsibilities, you will:

• Set-up and run sequencing instruments.


• Perform experiments part of the technology development.


• Provide basic data report for consolidation of results and report by the team scientists.


• Maintenance of instrumentation in the lab

Requirements:

• BSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related field, with 2+ years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.


• NGS workflow and an excellent biological background.


• Experience in immunohistochemistry, library preparation, amplification technologies and working with tissue is a plus.


• Understanding of the underlying technical principles of next generation sequencing chemistries and workflows.


• Experience in next generation sequencing (NGS) technology would be a plus.


• Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a temperature controlled facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in a laboratory setting. Employees entering the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as Lab coats, safety glasses and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
